Default Fun day at Currie Enterprises...

Very educational, Ray Currie really educated me on different parts and thier benefits.

Thought you guys would like this shot..

The right is a standard ring. The center is a VX style lightened ring and the left is a full tilt race ring that's been lightened, scalloped and REM polished.

The one in the center is fine for a street/track car. The one on the left is pretty much a race deal.

Weights:

standard - 12.6 lbs
light - 10 lbs
race - 7.8 lbs

We also found that a standard nice iron case was 33 lbs while my aluminum case was 13.6 pounds and the cost wasn't much more ($330 vs $445). That's a lot of unsprung weight off the car.

The didn't have smaller than 4.22 lightened gears in stock so a set of 3.90 gears are being sent to get done. For now here's what I have:

Cool. Thanks for the info and they are a first class operation. As big is the shop is I never can get a parking place at Currie always stuffed two deep. And never go there on a Wednesday in the afternoon as the car auction next door blocks traffic like crazy.

Its definately in the 'pounds' category... and depends on ratio. And... Tex Racing is the culprit of the EDM'ing.
