This thread is actually for the benefit of Tyler at ATS as well as myself. It seems we might both have a better understanding of some slightly less then stellar instructions provided by the manufacturer.
As far as the instructions go, the only key part that they cover is that the large arch in the pressure plate must be placed over the "floater straps and rivets" Notice that the pressure plate is not torqued all the way down in this photo. You can see that the space between the floater's rivet and the pressure plates rivet is very tight. If you were to move the pressure plate over one bolt hole you'd placed the shallow archway on top of the floater rivet which could keep the floater ring from releasing entirely.
These are the pressure plate's bolt, washer, and shouldered washer. Apparently the shouldered washer was added into the RST kits about 6-9 months ago, they are not shown on the current instructions. There's a recess on the floater's pressure plate attachment point that uses the shouldered washer to align the pressure plate on the floater.
Sorry for the blurry pic, I think you can see the recess in the floater's stanchion.
Here you can see how much the shouldered washer protrudes through the pressure plate. Again, this isn't tightened down.
So those are the details, I hope this helps someone.
