Default Wiring looms/door jamb for power windows

I got some help from the folks at Electric Life, and they think I can get my power window kit to work. So... now I have to find a way to get power and ground into the door.

I can't use the sliding mount thingies (like these), because my speakers are just inside the car there.

I've been looking at these contact door jamb tachs (like these). I'm concerned about durability and that I have to cut a large hole in the car door and body.

Anybody know how the rare cars that had power windows back in the day did this?

Any other suggestions?

thanks!
