Default 69 & 10 SS Camaro photos....

I stopped at the local Chevy dealer to check out the bright yellow SS on the lot - car is loaded with sunroof and all - with an A6 paddle shift.

I pulled my 9 next to it for some quick cell phone shots. What is interesting, is the bodies are just about the same length - where the wheel base on the 10 is a tad longer, you see it most at the front axle. The rear trunk deck is way taller...while our roofs are nearly the same height.

My Camaro is lowered, so a stocker would be much higher on the roof line.

The '10 looks good, but your '69 BLOWS IT AWAY!!!! Thanks for the pics.
We need some specs and pics of just your car. Looks good.
What color is that by the way? Looks maroon/red?

As the front tag on the car says MYNAGIN - This was my first car as a kid - dad bought it for me before I had a license. We worked on it night and day with a promise I would keep my grades up and stay out of trouble. Finished it in time for my DL test...and drove it to prom...etc in High School. Traded it off in 89 for a more reliable (85 Vette) with functional a/c...etc. to go to college. Lost my dad in 03 and went searhing for it as I have sweet memories of the two of us wrenching on it as a kid. Found it...talked the guy into selling it...and then rebuilt it. Everything was on the table EXCEPT the color - we painted it back exactly as it was as a kid - 1985/6 Renault Aliance Medium Metalic Mica Red with Caddy black cherry racing stripes.

Under the car - fully welded and smoothed stock sub frame - POR 15 with powder coated silver control arms - Edelbrock shocks, and shaved stock springs on VBandP sway bars.

C5 front brakes/LS1 01 SS camaro rear brakes
Steeroid Rack
04 GTO power brake booster
SLP stage III LS1 with 2,800 stall TCI and 4L60E trans
Ford 9" with 3.5 gears
vintage a/c
autometer gauges
1985 (from the 85 I traded - long story) seats 12 - way power covered to look like 69 Camaro
cruise
power win/locks/keyless
tilt/tele column from 81 Vette
fully shaved firewall
Intro PROWLER rims in custom color (silver titanium) and Nitto Neo tires

Ran a 12.5 at 111 on the Goodyear runflats I had on it with C5 wheels prior to the new Nitto and Intro wheels.

Believe it or not - other than the money for the wheels/tires - pretty much everything on this car was done on a shoe string budget.

Your car looks great! What is the specs on the rear wheels??

what width??

The rear wheels are 19x10 - front are 18x7 - The rear axle is a Ford 9" cut to stock 69 Camaro width.

The shocks were tricky because the SS 01 disc brake and 12" rotors put the caliper in front of the axle on both sides. I had to modify the lower shock mount on the passenger side to clear.

Previously I had the 9" built the first time 5" longer than stock so I could put the C5 rear wheels on with no adapters. There was no issue at all with shocks in this format.

The rear parking brake is 100% functional. If I had it to do over I would have worked with the axle shop to mount the brake bracket up-side-down on the passenger side so I could put that caliper facing rear - then re-route the parking brake cable.

I think the rims are on a 5" back space...but am not sure at the moment.

I had cleared out the lip with the C5 rear wheels - which is a real pay-off here - no rub of any sort unless I push the car hard through a corner. ZERO rub up front - where the C5 front wheels use to drag on hard turns or turns in combo with a curb or bump.

Thanks for the info! Looks killer. I used to run 18x10's with 5.75" bs and it was a super tight but a perfect fit. What size tires..275's or 285's??
