Default c5 master cylinder

Any one tried putting a c5 master cylinder and booster on a 1st gen camaro?? I am planning on running c5 calipers front and back, it would seem obvious running the same master cylinder, but not sure as the c5 would have an ABS pump between the master cylinder and calipers. Also I have a 502, and am wondering if the master cylinder and booster would clear the engine.
Thanks for your advice...

I'm doing a c5 cyl on a old style 8" dual diaphram booster on my next project, I have the master cyl already appear the same as the c4 except hose exit side and bore (1" vs 15/16 on the c4) On my 'done' 68 I have the c4 adapted to the 1st gen camaro dual diaphram booster. All that needed to be done was to open up the holes in the master cyl since the stud spacing is slightly different. The pilot bore to the booster is the same. The little pin that actuates the master cyl is threaded/adjustable, I had to adjust it to take any free travel out between the booster and master cyl. Looks the same for the c5 too.

How much vacuum does your 502 generate at idle? A vacuum boosted system may not be ideal with your setup if you don't have sufficient vacuum to run it.

I have never measured the vacuum, but considering I have been driving with standard disc/ drum combo, and it still stops, I don't think it is that big a problem, I believe it is the standard zz502 cam. I have considered a hydraboost, but I am kind of on a budget...I live in Europe, and I import all my parts from USA, by the time I get them (with freight, tax, etc), I have paid about double what you guys pay...enough to make a grown man cry!! The C5 parts are fairly cheep and easily adaptable, I thought that would be a great option.
Thanks for your advice...Jarvis

If you have a few days, I can try and measure the mounting on my 2000 vette's booster to see if it is anything close to the camaro - worst case I think you can make that booster work with new studs on the firewall and maybe a little fab work on the pushrod to clutch pedal setup.

Just went through this and didn't end up using the C5 master because I ran out of time. You need to make sure you get the fittings from the car the master comes off. These are hard to find and the rear fitting cannot be purchased aftermarket. You can only purchase an expensive line set from GM. Also the hard lines are 6mm, make sure you get 6mm hard line with ISO bubble flares, because 1/4" is too big and 3/16" too small. Then you need to figure out how to get from 6mm back to standard size for the proportioning valve, line lock or whatever else your plumbing down line.

BTW: I have a C5 master and the fittings that I tracked down out in the garage. Probably not ever going to use it now that I went RHD S-10 master.
