Default Speedtech subframe and motor question

I was trying to drop my motor in today for mock up and I ran into a problem. Seems like my mounts are just too far away from the motor. The pan wont clear the rack. Any ideas?

Is that pan supposed to clear a rear steer rack?

I thought so but I could be wrong. If not what pan does? Its shallower then the autokraft.

Heres a post I found from blake,
the motor sits as low as possible the oil pan (ATS or Autokraft) is about 3/8 above the rack and it is off set to the passanger side 3/4" to clear the powersteering fitting on the rack. you should have no issues fitting the transmssion

I'm not to up on the LSX stuff. I'm sure Blake can help you. Those motor mounts don't look like the tall style. How much more do you need? Is it hitting the sump or the belly of the pan?

I'm sure Blake will have answers in the morning........But I will say that it looks like you may have the wrong motor mounts.

Thanks guys. Man I love that Evade project. Looking at his thread it looks like I might have the motor mounts backwards. It odd though they engraved facing the right way. Either way Im sure Blake with have a answer tomorrow

There are 2 different frame pads one set for SBC/BBC and one set for ls motors. Since you purchased the sub off the internet we have no idea what frame pads you have. if you had called us we could have figured it out. Also you will have to remove the rack from the bracket (leave the bracket on the subframe) to get the pan over it when trying to install the motor trans at the same time with the sub on the car. next time i would install the motor trans in the sub then the sub in the car once everything is painted that way no scratches. make sure to square up the sub to the body as well.

Feel free to call us we have a toll free number. we are the ones who know the answers. i am sure most on here do not.

The LS pads have a "D" and a "P" punched in them, if you can not see the marks then measure your frame pads on the top side of the pad from the sub to the center line of the mounting tube, if they are the same then you need the LS pads if they are different then the short one goes on the passanger side.
dont worry everything fits
