Default LS2 Fuel Injection options?

I am building a customer's car that we are looking to make the LS2 look old school- is there any opinions out there regarding a 4 barrel intake throttle body system that would look old school and perform well. I would hate to spend $2400 on a Fast system to make it work only as well as stock - any thoughts?- Chris

Chris, I saw a FI system a while back in a magazine. It worked just like a TBI set up but it has what looks like 4bbl carb. The injectors and electronics are inside of it. I need to look back through and try and find it. From the pictures and the description it looked to be a simple plug and play. No tuning required and from an apearance side it looks just like a carb. No external fuel rails.

EDIT: Professional Products #70026 Powerjection III Kits. $1,649.00 at summit. 750cfm, speed density type system. Self programing (it can be lap top programmed if needed). ECU included.

I looked at both of these systems at SEMA - and spoke extensively to the Professional Products guys...

You'll get the LOOKS of a 4 barrel motor - with carb style filter etc -- but you're going to have a "Wet" injection system in the intake - ala a carb - rather than the air and fuel mixing right at the valve... But all the tests I've seen where they test the Edelbrock Carb manifold with a carb against the Factory injection -- sometimes they actually get MORE power from the carb...

thanks guys, we are doing a fresh air cowl like the old 67' Z cars but want the fun of an LS- might just do a carb but the argument is that is going backwards, but....you are not having to deal with the FI fuel system. hmmm

That Powerjection set up is a squarebore mount. It will bolt right up to the LS carb intakes yet give some of the benefits of EFI but obviously not like direct port injection. But for the price of the kit and ease of tuning it does not seem too bad. I don't know what kind of power it will support though.

I have not talked to anyone running it so I can not vouch for it.

Just remember, your car is not done and I am a very bad influence on budgets that way....I know you saw a lot of really cool stuff at SEMA this year too!
