Default Just got my first DSLR

Family got together and got me a DSLR. I'm so excited to get back into photography at a hobby level again. I carry my point and shoot canon everywhere with me so I figured it was about time I started shooting with some real lenses.

Camera is a Canon Rebel t1i and I have the 18-55 lens and a 55-250 lens. Will get better lenses if I see the need and get real into it again. I haven't touched a real camera body since about 1995 or so

Some pix. Criticism is encouraged. Obviously not the best location, I just finished washing the car and going through and touching up all the track paint chips...

I love playing with new toys

You are going to love that....there's nothing like a DSLR! Just yeasterday I was able to get pics I would have missed without my DSLR!

Remember to use the 'rule of thirds'....it will make it more pleasing to the eye and not look like a snap shot.

Enjoy!!

http://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds

check that out, it should help. It helps everyone get away from taking the usual centered image.

Enjoy the t1i. Its a great camera. Wait till you start getting deep into photography, its gonna get expensive and turn into a sickness, not unlike our hobby with these cars.

id also recommend this book: http://www.booksamillion.com/product/9780470521281

will definitely help you get started as well as give you some great tips for shooting. Digital Photography for Dummies is also a great choice as well. Best of luck wiht the new camera

My GF gave me a Olympus E-620 with 3 lenses for Christmas
Only Lens that is missing is the Wide Angle not sure I will need it though as the std lens seem to be pretty good. Awesome Camera.
