Default What do you got in your rear end?

I know--bad title.

So I scored a Fab Nine housing, now I need some recommendations on what to run for a third member---the motor I have going in the car is approx 540hp and 550tq---I have a procharger for the motor, but it won't be going on until next year--but I would estimate 700 to 750 and at least that much torque. Will be using the car for mostly street, but road course for sure--at least 4 to 5 times during the year and plenty of auto X stuff.

I'm not going to respond based on the title!

Seriously -- are you asking about axles - third member strength - gear ratio - yoke sizes or what - or all of the above?

Ya--all of the above---what is considered a really good third member setup for one of these cars---who's ring gear are you using---axle spline--etc.

If no slicks 31 spline will do. The ratio depends on trans and overall intended use. The true trac is a pretty stout unit, but only available in 31 spline. Just buy good parts.

I agree with Rodger. I would put a 31 spline Tru Track in it were it me, you will never hook it up enough to break it. If your going to do the 750HP set up and run slicks I would do a 35 spline Moser Wave Track.

I use Strange housing and gears... Dutchman axles...

Agree - 31 spline is plenty - with a 1350 u joint...

I'm running an Aluminum housing (Strange) in the Nomad - I wouldn't recommend that for a street car.. don't ask me why I did it ("because" is the only answer).

OR you can install a strange engineering 12 bolt drop out center section with a 33 spline true track and get the added bennefit of the lower weight and lower parasitic drag of the 12 bolt... best of 2 worlds
