Default How many quarts of oil does a chevy 572 take??

Hey guys I have been trying to find this answer on here but cant seem to find it anywhere. I want to know how many quarts does a Chevy crate engine 572 take?? Also what oil weight to use??

As many as your pan will hold. 7 quart pan, 7 quarts of oil plus filter unless your running oil cooler. Then obviously you will need a little more. I would discuss oil viscosity and type with builder.

If it's a factory pan, you just use the factory dipstick mark. If it's an aftermarket pan, you fill it to the aftermarket pan advertised capacity and mark the stick. I'd run 10w30...

The 572 delivered from gm comes with a 6 quart oil capacity. Although I would check with Troy to find out if the pan was changed. Most Milodon and Moroso pans are around a 7 quart capacity.

Gm recommends a 20w-50 Synthetic after break in
