Default Retiring from Active Duty
Well gang, after 25 years of active duty in the Air Force I've applied for and been approved for retirement effective 1 Apr 2011!

Many of you heard of my father's unexpected passing on the 17th of last month... our plan is to retire from the military quickly (within a month or so) and get up to northwest Ohio to care for my mother who is now up there all alone.

It's been a great ride and I've loved every minute of it! No regrets!

Congrats on the decision Ty! I can't believe its been almost a year for me since I retired. Believe me, there will be times you will miss it but there is ALOT I don't miss If you would have asked me a year ago if I was going to be living in Chile right now I would have told you that you were crazy. BTW, its nice to get that monthly check On a side note, start doing your VA stuff now and be as proactive as you can to get all of the paperwork done. I was in the same boat (dropped papers at 128 days out) and everything comes really fast. If you have any questions, just PM me. Best of luck!
