Airride vs. Coilovers - Lateral-g Forums

Guys, change of plans on my Chevelle...maybe. I am now considering fabbing a custom frame (not me, but the shop doing the work, lol!!). If I do, I am strongly contemplating using dual adjustable Shockwaves with the internal ride height sensors built in on all four corners. Can someone with knowledge of the ride and feel of Shockwaves give me some insight. A little input on the frame. It will be built out of 2x3 square tubing and I will use all my current parts I have now...the Global West and Hotchkis stuff will do just fine for me. Don't want to buy anything new since the stuff I already have is good, quality stuff (see my build thread). I know Art Morrison is coming out with a direct fit frame for my car, but @ $14-$16k, that is not only out of my budget, but out of the question too.

14 grand is a lot of money.. but i will be very supprised if it doesnt end up costing the close to the same doing a custom one off frame with airride..

if you bow the oem frame, install it with solid mounts and contact SC&C for the front and rear suspension you wil have a car that handles as well or better for far less..

the only reason to do a custom frame is if you want to do somthing you cant with the OEM one..

like lay it on the rockerpanels... or have 4-5 inch rideheight from the rockers to the ground...

spc front arms. ats spindles, currie rear arms and a wattslink on a boxed frame will give you a car that handles like you wouldnt believe...

Guys, it's been awhile since I posted this thread. Well, when I posted it, I said I was contemplating getting a custom frame. Turns out, I decided to go with it. I couldn't help myself.

It is half paid for and I should have it in my possession by this fall. I only got one response to my post. Could someone else chime in. I would like to know opinions on coilovers vs. airride. Whichever one I choose to go with, it will be double adjustable. I know it is a matter of opinion, as is with everything else, but I would like to hear others opinions...good and bad.
