Question for the pros - my car is located in the stormy/humid midwest and being shot today and tomorrow, I am told

. Sealer first. I am certain there is no dehumidifiers, etc in the paint shop. Will this cause any layout or other problems down the road? What do you guys in FL do? Using PPG products if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!

Ron, Couple of questions: is the shop using a down daft heated baking booth, are they using PPG water bourn (Envo-base) or solivent paint. If the booth has an air makeup unit (heat) than it won't make as much of a difference as if they are using a cross flow booth and no heat. Humdity will cause more issues with solvent bourn paint then water bourn paint. With water bourn you use the humidty to help spray the paint, more humidty less water to reduce the base coat less humidty more water you reduce with. With solvent as long as they are letting the base coat flash the recommened amount of time inbetween coast than they shouldn't have any issuses. Also why is it taking two days to paint the car? I would be more concerned about how long they are letting the base coat stay open before clear coat, unless they are painting pisces and thats why it's taking two days. Thansk Rick. I shoulda PM'd you first as I knew you'd know. PM me your number? I believe they are using solvent based, not 100% positive. It is a down draft booth with cross flow heaters. I have info on flash times and clear coat process, but these guys are a Dupont shop and I'm dragging them into the PPG world...

Just let the shop do their job. Obviously you had enough reasons to hire them do the painting. It's the last thing any shop wants is for a customer to tell them how to do their work, if you're going to do that, why not just paint it yourself.

As long as there is proper flash times between coats and before clear goes on, it will be just fine

I appreciate the feedback Guys. Stefan, I do trust them but it has taken some time to get to this point and now the big day comes and it's off/on flooding there. I think I am a good customer, but a bit of a knuckle head sometimes. I think most guys on this site are w our cars...
