Smile Heather’s 67 Mustang Coupe to Fastback conversion. Update 8/12/11 Saleen S281 Exhaust

Here is a link to the page I made for her. http://adfabdesign.com/Site/67Mustang-677.html
I know its been a long time since I posted but I wanted to give everyone an update on Heathers 67 Mustang. As some of you might know it was in Popular Hot Rodding magazine a couple years ago in the hometown hot rodding section as a coupe. The plans were to fix it up, paint it and sell it so we could buy a 67 fastback.
Well plans have changed and we decided that instead of selling her very first car, we are going to keep it and build it into a budget build fastback. We have the Eleanor GT500 fiberglass trunklid and extensions that we will install after the top is welded on. We also have the top front Eleanor clip. Other plans are eventually disk brake conversion, 18” wheels, Shrifter conversion, recessed fuel cell, lower vents modified to cool rear brakes, HOK Sunset pearl orange with white stripes, white interior with racing seats, and more including a very unique exhaust idea.
Here are a few pics of our current progress. My website with her Mustang coupe pics will get a major makeover in preparation for the fastback conversion. While it seems like a step backward, it has actually been a major step forward toward in achieving our ultimate goal of owning a 67 Fastback Mustang. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the replies. I have still kinda been around. I got a job promotion about a year ago so I have been very busy with work and never go online to the car forums. I have to admit, I have saved a lot of money since I quit visiting these forums.
We also spent most of the summer tearing her moms 73 mustang completely apart, redoing all the body work, and painting the car inside and out. Consumed most of last summer and we got burnt out.
I do still attend road track events with my 69 Camaro at least 1 or 2 times a year. We will be building her Mustang into a Pro-Touring / Lateral-G machine similar to how my 69 Camaro is built. Its nice hearing some familiar voices again.

Adam, that conversion looks pretty damn good. I'm glad to see the motivation is still there. I look forward to seeing any progress on this project.

Wow that is a nice project, i did not think this could be done. BUT i think the question I should be asking is how are you doing that. I would like to have a fastback for a coupe price. This seems like the way if done properly!! Keep us updated please!!
