Howdy all,my name is Glenn i live in Melbourne Australia
I have been lurking around in the background for a while and thought its about time i started a build thread,i am no stranger when it comes to Camaros having previously, owned around 8 or so 1st gens
this time i thought i would build something along the lines of a pro tourer
what i am starting with is a typical basket case that needs a fair amount of work panels.paint trim drive-line,
these are the plans i have for the old girl (XP836 BUILD NAME)
IT IS A 1968 RS SS
FRONT TO REAR:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Front sub frame sandblasted fully seem welded debured bla bla
airide or speed-tech upper and lower control arms afx spindles brakes?
i will shave all the drip mouldings
i plan to use smooth glass front and rear
front and rear bars bought closer into the body
rear fuel cap done away with
and a few othe mods along the way
i plan to use a 302 Chevy engine with an m22 muncie witch i already have(out of a past car i use to own offy cross-ram couple 600 dp Holley,s
speed-tech solid frame bushes
for the rear i have already purchased an air ride complete coilover setup
ihave purchased my wheels which are vintage wheel works V45 in sizes
front 18x8 with a 4and3/4 backspace tyre toyo proxy ra1 245/40/18
rears 18x11 with a 5 and 3/4 in back space toyo proxy ra1 335/30/18
ihave completed the mini tub install (tci setup just clears)
pics to follow shortly,
and a few more
in one of the pics with the wheel siting on amade up stan is the ride height
iwould like to finish up with but i have encounted a few problems with the airide bar setup witch i will get to shortly(hoping some will have soe ideas how to rectify this)
and here a few more of the rear end 9inch and as you will see with the standard spring perch sits toclose to the end of the axle which in return i can not fit a disc with an internal e brake setup so i am hoping some one might know of a bracket i can use to eliminate the spring perches with out having to change out the lower arm as well
