Default Tinting clear

I just got done painting my core support, and inner fender wells, I used shop line gloss black, it came out very nice, then I tinted the clear with 1 part gloss black, I think it turned out sweet. I just started painting and this is my own car so if I screw it up I have no one to blame but me.. Im taking my time and trying to do it right.

I checked on materials for painting my car, I think I can do it for under a grand. I was shocked to what my painter quoted me. $12k

That's how we used to do a single stage with clear years ago. Started with the single stage then brought that into the clear, then keeped stepping it out to more clear then paint until you finished with just clear. Always looked a mile deep on a black car! Also 12K for a paint job is not all that crazy, not bashing just saying most guys will spend thousands of dollars on parts for their car but the part that everyone see more then all the parts is the paint. Then the same guy goes with a cheap paint job and when it looks like sh!t he just tells everyone who did the bad job, most won't say "yah it looks like sh!t but I only paid X for the job. Just sayin, been doing this a long time. Also not saying you can't get a very good job for less but most times not through a reputable shop. Just remember when you go to the shop that building cost way more in rent or mortgage and taxes then the guy doing on the side or out of his house. Sorry for the long rant. By the way lets see some pictures!

Thanks for the reply Rick, I agree with you a 100% on you get what you pay for, My 67 the paint shrunk up and you could see the sand marks in a few area's, Pissed me off when I took it back to painter and nothing ever got done with it, House of color Sunset pearl, He told me he could wet sand and reclear it for 6k... No Thanks.. So I can step out the color to all clear, Hmm learning more and more. I think it turned out extremely well for garage a paint job.

I post some pictures up tomorrow.
