touchy subject
if you want a reliable battery that has never let me down go with interstate.reasonably priced and works like it should.
most of the guys running optimas have to keep there car on a tender so it will start.i jjust feel that a battery should work as advertised.i would never buy one.thats just my opinion take it for the nickle its worth.good luck whichever way you go

Thanks speedshftr, I was just inquiring as I saw that Project WAR is running a braille battery and I have seen Optima's being used in allot of the cars on the forums; I have no experience with either but I will also look into your suggestion of using Interstate. Thanks again!

My preference would be either an Odessey or Deka over the highly marketed Optima

I don't see those companies doing anything for our hobby or even advertising on these sites. For what Optima does for this hobby and these sites I see no other choice than a yellow top Optima battery. Just my .02

Raj, go with the Braille battery. I have used them on several projects and had great luck with them. When Jason ordered his Baer brakes we got to talking about batteries and I told him about braille. They are only 21lbs vs. over 40lbs and have just as much power.

I do appreciate what Optima does for our hobby I just have had terrible luck with their batteries.

Thanks Luke!

I was looking at the Braille stuff and looks like you went with the Carbon option for WAR any particular reason for going that way over the no-weight, since they are both 21 pounds?

@ the faceoff they gave everyone batteries, t shirts, duffle bags and put on the event, and they put on the ousci every year which is televised. I dont see any other companies putting on hour long programs with our cars in them. Sorry you missed it!
