Default Matte Powercoated wheels

How hard is the upkeep on matte powdercoated wheels? are they able to be cleaned on a normal basis? thanks

The matte finishes are definitely harder to keep clean. Whereas the gloss creates a fairly smooth surface, the lack of gloss leaves a certain amount of texture. And this texture creates lots of little spaces for dirt and grime to collect.

So it takes more elbow grease to clean.

And it is possible to damage a matte surface from regular aggressive cleaning. Steve recommends the Sonax wheel cleaner to loosen the brake dust without so much elbow grease.
