Default Positioning Wheels For Measuring Axle Size

Does anyone know how much room you should have between the inner barrel and the wheel tub when determining axle size on a 68 Camaro.

I have a Quadralink and i'm trying to determine where to position the wheels in relation to the tub to get the final numbers. This should also account for any motion of the suspension so it doesn't rub.

I'm trying to get the wheel as close as possible to the tub because i'm going to increase the outer lip size as far as I can (wheel is a 10 shooting for a 12 or 12.5 if I stretch the fender)

I also need to know this. I think you need 1/2" min. on both sides to account for side shift/ tilt movement.
