GPS speedometer module location
For you guys that are using, or have installed for someone else, a GPS module for a speedometer, where did you place the actual antenna? Just purchased an Autometer GPS equipped unit, and the instructions tell me that the Antenna is waterproof, and can be installed on the roof (behind the headliner), under the dash, or perhaps even at rear package tray. I'm not sure about the lifespan of these antenna's, but I figure if I mount it behind the headliner, I'm asking for problems later? I've had a couple of cars factory equipped with GPS antenna's on the roof for navigation systems, so maybe it's not a bad idea?
Just wondering what some of you have done.

I have autometer speedo with GPS , the antenna I have has magnetic back so I ran it up under dash and squeezed between defroster vent and dash vent and set it on the dash.It works great, good luck with install.

Thanks guys. It doesn't tell me in my instructions that the module has to be uncovered, in direct sight, so I was just wondering if I could place it behind something, like the dash, and it operate correctly.

If they have a tech line give them a call, my gps antenna is small so I don't even notice it on the dash.

I also placed my antenna on the dash in front of the driver.
