Default 2014 Good Guys Texas road trip

Hey all, we got back in a couple of weeks ago. Eight days of driving, lots of wet weather, lots of good people, lots of great cars. All and all, a memorable experience (mostly good haha).

I highly recommend this trip for those that enjoy ALL aspects of cars. Whether your into showing, touring, racing or what ever, this trip had a little bit of everything. We went to quite a few musuems, collections (some of which we were asked politely to not take any pictures, which we respected), restaurants. And did a bit of "parking lot partying".

My trip could of been a little better, hood came unlatched (again!! EFF), developed a shimmy in NV, the a/c never really blew cold (more like almost cool), the headers wore thru in Texas so my computer said, "HEY, go full rich", hence the gas issues on the way home. And a few other inconviences...but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained....so now the car comes apart again. Mini-tubs, four-linky, computer relocation, different accessories package, hose a/c relocation, and hopefully the rims.

And now pics....

So we left pleasanton on thursday the 25th...

leaving Carson City NV headin to Ely NV..

And how my trip wrapped up:

Ran outa gas, was getting 400 to 450 miles per tank, this was at 260....thanks to the headers more or less.

But made it home, safe and sound. 4100 miles later. Kool thing is, now that shes in the garage, kinda used, not feeling well. I still want to go out and drive....i guess that what this is mostly about for me. Driving. I like building, car shows, car shopping, polishing/waxing, But I LOVE DRIVING!!! Shifting, getting slideways, the rush of the accelerating, the sound of the engine, the squealing of the tires at 90 around a bend at the track....so all and all, if you like to drive, meet nice people, see things ya just cant on a regular basis...then this trip is for you....Man, i LOVE this country, were soooo blessed to be able to do this.....

Cheers, hope y'all enjoyed it....Mike A
