Default One Crazy Night!

I get home this morning at 5:00am after a night of playing designated driver for my buddies and some ladies that we met at the bar. Then something unexpected happens...
Make a long story short,
After being home for 30mins and getting ready for bed I decide to turn on the computer and log on to my favorite forum, Lateral-G.net! As I'm about to log on, I hear the warning chirp from my alarm on my truck go off. I look outside and see a guy running away from my truck!
I see him jump into a car and drive away like nothing happened. I grab my handgun and run outside to see if there is any damage, jump into my truck, and go after them. About three streets over I spot them and they spot me, so the chase begins. I chased them in my neighborhood going close to 60mph until I get the license plate number and a description of the two jerks. I got a really good look at them since they're dumb butts turned into a lit gas station to try to loose me. Cops came, took finger prints off the truck, and said that they probably know me threw someone else or just have seen the truck around town.

I have had my truck up for sale for two weeks. I wonder if they got my address because I have my phone number posted on the truck?
Here's a look at the damage:

You acually can leagaly shoot at someone in TX for stealing your property. since he didnt accually take anything I don't think it would have been leagal to shoot. If he grabed a cd out of his truck and ran You can leagaly shoot him. I got a tx concealed carry permit when I was in the military. I also have a North Carolina Permit. You can not shoot over property in NC. Only over serious physical injury or sexual assault.

The Sheriff told me that I could have legally shot him. He said AT NIGHT all bets are off for the thief. If someone is messing with your car/home at night you do not know the intentions of the thief, you can legally shoot them to protect yourself/property.
