Default Volvo S60 seats

Hello everyone thought I'd share my experience with these seats. A few days ago my dad asked me to go to the pick your part. He needed a new steering column for his 75 chevy work truck. So I went to look for parts for my cars. I have a 69 firebird and the seats are destroyed. I was gonna pull some hyundai tiburon seats (cloth, manual) that were in really good condition. Then I saw some S60 seats, I sat in them and they were really comfortable, I thought I'd try and make them fit into my 69 firebird. I figured heated, electric leather seats would be cool. I only payed $40 for them.

I Looked around for the schematics and found them at mathews volvo site. they are out of a 2001+ Volvo, not sure exactly what year. The PSM has a relay inside that's controlled by Volvos Central Electronic Module. Basically it gives 12+V for 30 or so seconds and cuts off and then back on for 30 or so seconds, depending on whether or not the car is on/off etc... I opened up the PSM to see if I could bypass the function, and have it working at all times but decided that it was best to just install a momentary switch, to cut power whenever i wanted to make adjustments. All functions work. All that needs to be done is connect the red and violet/white wire to +12V and brown and black to Neg-. you get about 30 seconds to make adjustments

Here is a video of the motors working.

Worked on the seat frames a little bit today. I had to grind down the ears on the mounts, so that the rail would sit flat. you can see in the picture that there are existing holes that I can enlarge so that a bolt will fit through.

this is the driver side closest to trans tunnel. I took a hammer to some parts to make it flat.

the front 2 mounting points sit flat as well as one in the back. I had to bend the mount a bit to fit but it turned out great

I will only need to fabricate something for the rear mount closest to the trans tunnel, but some scrap angle iron and a welder will take care of that.

the seat mounts have plastic covers .I was worried someone would hurt their foot here. I prob won't have many rear passengers anyway.

Any more progress on these seats? I plan on using C70's in my Cutlass (folding) as I used to have an '02 S60 and they are the most comfortable seats in the world. I'd love to see how it all works out. Thanks!

I installed and figured it all out. Me and my buddy even figured out how to bypass the 30 second cut off. We were going to use an Arduino to turn on and off a mosfet that would kind of recreate what the volvo CEM did, but decided that 30 seconds every time the car turned on was more than enough ( no one is driving it when I'm done). The headrest sits very high so when i have time I'm cutting it down some. The seats are out the car right now, I sprayed the inside with SEM Rust-shield.
