Default Transbrake on stock turbo 400

I am building a pro street car, but I am new to drag racing. The car is an 84 camaro big tire car with an S&S Back half. 9" with 4.88's, chromoly shafts and a spool, and a PA racing front end. For now I am running a 454, turbo 400 combo, both stock, but solid and in good working order. My plan is to get it running and on the street, and then swap out the trans, then the engine, but in the mean time, I'd like to squirt a little nitrous to it and run it down the track a couple of times.

So my question is, how stupid would it be for me to install a transbrake on a stock 400 with a stock torque converter? It would only be for the summer, and I will most likely buy or build a TH400 this winter.
