Hi Guys,
I am in the process of buying a speed tech torque arm system for my 69 Camaro from a guy who has changed directions on his project. The stumbling block for me right now is that his kit is set up to use a Ford 9" and I have a 12 bolt. Does anyone know what the differences will be between the 2 systems? I would prefer to keep my existing 12 bolt as it is original and I have put some $ into it. I have tried emailing speed tech directly and haven't rec'd a reply yet so this forum is my next step. I don't want to wait to long and have the system sold out from under me .
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
The differences are the brackets that mount the torque arm to the center section of the 12 bolt housing. You'll have to get a bracket from speedtech for the back of your 12 bolt housing and the front bracket as well that bolts to the pinion mount (its two pieces ). You'll also possibly have to grind some of the webbing off of the pinion to bolt up the front two piece bracket. Everything else will weld up to your 12 bolt housing.
When did you email? we are VERY diligent at responding so I am wondering if there is a problem with our Email Server ????
the answer is EXACTLY with Build it Break it said. call us to purchase a 12 bolt mounting system. if the 9" pinion mount you have is in NEW condition we will take that back for a partial credit towards the new one. you pay the shipping.
There is no doubt Speedtech is one of the very best companies I have ever had the pleasure to deal with ... Whenever I needed assistance with anything Roger has helped me out immediately (like last week ). These guys are aces ...
Cheers
Steve
