Default 65 Chevelle Disk conversion.

I searched and found a thread talking about the steeltech rear kit for 499.

Now for the front. Do you think this would be a good way to go?
http://www.geocities.com/diels12000/BrakesII.html

Seems that I could do both of these and be out a lot cheaper than an expensive name brand kit. Since the front does most of the stopping, I think the Vette brakes would be great. But another question... Since the Vette doesn't weigh near as much as my chevelle; would this be OK?

It seems to be hard finding info for the early chevelles..

Sorry, I don't have a first gen Camaro...

I would say to go with a Touring Classics brake kit. They are much much cheaper than brand "B".

For brakes, anything that fits a '67-69 Camaro will also work on any 64-72 Chevelle for both front and rear.

If you can find a set of camaro rear brakes off 93-97 (parking brake on caliper) or 98-02 (parking brake = mini-drum - better design) you can probably actually get into those for cheaper than the steeltechs, and they'll be 12" rather than 11".

For front, a good low-priced 13" kit is from KORE 3 which sells a C5 kit that goes on your stock spindle. Bigger = better in most cases when it comes to brakes, regardless of what your car weighs.

I am on Team Chevelle also.. Just seems to be more custom cars here..

What about F-body(98+) front brakes? Can these work on my car? I can get the K-member with everything attached from a local buddy of mine.

Thanks for the info, but that is a little out of my budget at the moment.
