Most of your are probably aware of RideTech's new affordable StreetGrip suspension kit. The team at RideTech created the StreetGrip kit (which includes shocks, springs, front sway bars, delrin bushings, and misc hardware) because they recognize that the majority of muscle car owners are not building $250,000 projects and may not have the budget for a $10k suspension kit. It is a concept that we understand very well too, since building wheels one at a time on a custom made-to-order basis is somewhat inefficient and definitely expensive. And for the past several years, we've been working hard to create new concave designs and creative finish options that look and perform great. But these new designs come with a cost, since the concave shapes require special (ie: more expensive) forgings and require longer machine times, and the creative finishes require more time, material, and skill. So many of the orders shipping out, lately, can get a little pricey. (For example, if you do a Concave Series wheel in 19x11/20x12 and opt for the optional Transparent Smoke center finish and the optional Brushed outer finish, then you'd MSRP at $7650/set. There are certainly more expensive wheels on the market, but this is still a significant investment.)
So we thought that Carson's '67 Camaro was a great-looking example of a build that managed to completely transform a 50 year old car and used the best brands in the business. But he was careful to choose some slightly more budget-friendly options to keep the project cost under control. So he has the StreetGrip kit (which retails for $2500), Baer's 4-piston T4 brake calipers (versus the more expensive 6-piston 6P/6S/6R options), and a set of 18x8/18x9 GX3 wheels from our Performance Series. He chose the Matte Gold center finish and the Polished outer, both of which are "Standard" (ie: no extra cost) finish options. So this set would MSRP for $5240.
Our friends at Davenport Motorsports transformed Carson's '67 Camaro with a new LS3 powertrain (complete with Lingenfelter GT14 cam), 5-speed transmission swap, Corbeau seats & harnesses, RideTech Street Grip suspension, Baer brakes, and this gorgeous set of Forgeline GX3 wheels finished with Matte Gold centers and Polished outers.
