Forgeline remains at the top of the list when coming to quality wheel manufacturers for good reason. While there are many choices out there for wheels, purpose selection should rank very highly on your list. Define your priority when selecting your wheels. Are you driving around town and going to shows? Are you building for a client? Are you tracking only? Dual purpose (or in some cases, three maybe four purposes).
This is a very important component in any auto/motorcycle/bicycle build. One not to be takin casually. Figure in "better to best" when buying wheels and tires. A "very very good" set of wheels and tires will set you back $6000 to $8000 in most cases, or the price of a crate LS3, there's good reason why. I read somewhere a long time back that a tire has some thing like 80% of your handling characteristics, while that number may be off a little, it's still the most important component in the vehicles communication with the road.
So, in conclusion, if you have a hard time "affording" your dream wheels, may I suggest you save a little longer, or work a couple side jobs, or do a little overtime? The decision you make regarding this wheel purchase is a big one.
Good luck wheel hunting, and remember, "slideways" is not necessarily a bad thing.....Cheers, mike
