Default 66 Duece /7k is it worth it?

Hey guys, I just clicked the dreaded Buy It Now button.

I talked to the guy, and this car is in fact as clean as it looks. There is zero rust on the car, excluding the spots of surface rust where there's no paint. CAr comes w/ 4bolt 350(needs a new timing chain put on that wioll be included, t350 trans that worked well when is was taken out. He has all the trim in good condition, all the interior pieces that are driver condition. Says the headliner needs to be tucked up in the back. brakes are good, everything is there. Did I do good. I think so! But lets hear it!

hard to say because the link isn't working. Now it's fixed (thanks Rod!) But 66/67 Novas are the highest priced of all the years, so it sounds like a good deal.

Gordz32!

I posted this at Pro-Touring also but are you sure it is a true SS and not a clone? What does the VIN say? If you aren't aware, here is how you can tell if it is an SS or not:

1965 thru 1967 = separate model: look for 17 or 18 in the 2nd and 3rd digits of the VIN. 17 is an SS with a 6-cylinder. 18 is an SS with a V8.

Doesn't look too bad but you better watch out what's under the paint! Mine had some very "creative" bodywork and welding done to it and I only found this out after I stripped the car.

What kind of driving you going to do with the car?

John

Why is it called a 66 "Duece"?

I always associate a Duece with a 1932 Ford.

I'd be hard pressed to buy a car off ebay without seeing it. I'm assuming that you didn't see it. Especially $7K. $100 maybe. I'd have to place a refrigerator magnet over the WHOLE car. It looks good from the pictures, but so do some women. He is taking pictures of what he wants you to see. Now if there is a clause that upon inspection you find more rust than was disclosed, you didn't have to pay him, it probably is ok. How far are you from him?

I'm 5hrs, and I we have an agreement that If for some reason the car isn't as described that I'm walking away no questions asked! Its not a true SS by the way, but that doesn't bother me
