This is a Toyota prius being recharged by a gas powered Honda portable generator at Washington square mall. I thought the prius had a pretty good EPA estimated range, but apparently the Honda is the more reliable choice.
It's possible to convert a Prius to plug in hybrid or electrical only. Maybe that's what they did to that car and then had troubles? I don't know. However, it does clearly show why electric cars are a waste for the most part. The electricity has to be generated from somewhere. Coal is still the major power source for electricity generation.
