Default 68 Firebuild build & Wheel pics

I was finally able to get some pics posted of the Intro wheels that Steve (HRBS) had ordered for me. The rears are 18x10 & fronts are 18x7. Centers are powdercoated. I've still got a ways to go with my Firebird build. The rear is from a 68 Corvette, powdercoated with a Harbor Freight setup. The frame rails are from Autoweld Fab and are 2x3x11 ga. I took the stock wheel house's and widened them almost 7". New quarters are next, but since I can't wait any longer for the Firebird one's I picked up a Camaro set. They don't have the "Gills" so I'll be modifying them a little. The plan is to fabricate a set of side scoops that resemble the scoops on a 599 Ferarri.

Sorry about the rust. That will be taken care of when the quarters come off

Really nice work. The inner fender wells look great. How did you get the rear corssmember/mount welded to the cast iron cover? Much cleaner setup than the C4 IRS installs I have seen.

Scratch the question. I now see that you have bolted brackets to the cover. Really cool!! Love it!! Relocated rear frame rails?

Upper part of the quarters looks good in the photos. Lower sections and lip can't be patched in with new metal?

Really like the oval exhaust exits too!

Looking great, nice progress! The quarter replacement won't be a big deal after all you've done so far!!

Those wheels look so small in that open wheel well without rubber LOL.
They were huge in the boxes.... Glad to finally see some posted pics of progress. I agree the quarters will be easy after whats been done so far.
Glad I could help. Now get it done so we can go to the outlets this summer !

Nice fabrication job on your 'bird. That will look great when it's all done. Those tubs look excellent - nice work. Keep posting those pics.
