I'd just put it in a Museum or drive it 3 miles to a car show and back home.

I don't know what you own but most classics require a custom template which mean razor blades and countless hours of work. I was out at spring mountain and they had a race car that was covered from head to toe. Didn't look bad but it was a factory paint job not a wet sanded paint job. I got a nice chip at 350 miles in the middle of nowhere at 11 PM. I as pissed for a few minutes then I smiled because it wasn't new anymore . And yes, I spent a pretty decent chunk of change on the paint. I'd rather drive and chip it up and refresh it down the road than worry about it.... We have truck that carry gravel here on the freeways, I will always duck off if I see one, don't get me wrong, I don't go begging for chips.
