He isn't local to you but he may know someone, or may be able to help out. I did some tuning with the Gen VII a few years ago, and I was less than impressed. Yes, it absolutely is very capable and with the proper tune it runs as well as anything out there. But getting the tune done properly............

Back then you had a standard or sportsmen key (can't remember what it was called) and a "pro" key. With the standard key you could not adjust many of the tables. I understand the reasoning, as many of the tables available only under the pro key if changed incorrectly would create huge problems. But we needed to make some changes in those areas so we had to purchase the pro key (doesn't come with the system, costs $200-$300 more!). There was also a lot of things that ran in the background. You'd adjust one map and it'd change another without you doing it. You'd shut off the O2's as a test but they'd still be working in some areas, stuff like that. My buddy had this system on a procharged small block, took it to two different professional tuners, both of which had the tune worse than what I had done by the time they were done. I eventually got it tuned pretty well, but he finally sold it and bought a Fast. Had the tune spot on in a day and he was much happier.
All that said, the system is very good, but you do need a tuner familiar with it to get the proper tune. Properly tuned it's awesome, the tuning is the key to any efi system. Most are very capable, but they must be tuned correctly. I feel the Gen VII is one that is harder than most to get there. I remember when most the dealers were dropping the system (which in fairness to Accel most of them should have never been dealers, they did not know how to tune). I heard later that they "dumbed down" the tuning, making it much more simple. I've never tuned it since, and I hate that standard key vs pro key deal to get to all the tuning areas. Hopefully Supreme Efi linked above can help you out with a recommendation. You get it tuned right and you'll love it.
