Nothing looks better than black. You just can't expect the level of perfection with other colors. You also will get blemishes that you would never see on other colors. Bottom line is, as long as you can accept the fact that black will never be perfect...go for it. I have had 3 black motorcycles, 4 black cars, it just goes with the territory. I am not saying I won't get pissed when my camaro gets on the road and gets misc wear and tear but I have learned to expect it.

Nothing shows off the lines of a car better than black. My daily drivers are black, my showcars are black. Personally I feel its the "cleanest" color available. There's nothing better than a freshly polished black paintjob! If you're not big on keeping your cars tip-top clean, it's probably wise to pick another color kuz black can be a handful in a hurry. You can always tell when someone takes pride in their vehicle with a black car, though. Thats for sure.

But you know the old saying... Once you go black you never go back (I'm talkin' about the paint.. get your mind outta the gutter)

I've had 2 black cars, both daily drivers while living in New England. It was tough to keep them as nice as I wanted. New England is a really dirty area of the country for cars. I have too many cars now to devote that much time to paint maintenance on a daily driver.

I love the look of a clean black car, but I hated the upkeep required. I think your location also affects the upkeep, I live in NC (southern state) I could spend 1/2 saturday detailing and drive down to the sonic for lunch and get back and the car is covered in pollen.

Black is the only way to go if you ask me nothing looks better when done right and kept up. But its also a color that can look like s#&$ if not kept up.Its a little easier when your not driving it every day. I have a black STS everyone who has a black car asks how I keep the black so nice, simple it hardly ever leaves the garage!!

Maybe it's a addiction... I have two black cars, dark purple (almost black) car and a black truck. You get really good at washing a car. Ya I get bummed when I see a new flaw but that's what happens when you drive them. Once it's all clean I still stand back and think damn that paint is still badass!!

If you hate detailing and keeping your car clean thats when I'd stay away from black other wise you just deal with it.

I went with black on my 69. I get lots of comments on how good black looks. Ya, it gets dirty. But for me I am a clean freak and no matter what color car I have i'll clean it just about every week or 2. I keep my landscape trucks & trailers as clean as possible. I drive my camaro 3-4 x's per week but most miles are put on during weekends. I say if you really want black, go for it. If the body shop is trying to talk you out of it, I'd check out another shop. Black takes more work to look good, they make not want or be able to do the job right.
