Default Picking out steering wheel

I need to buy a steering wheel for my project car & I want to ask you guys’ opinions. I’m a simple man with a meager budget so, I’m not building a top dollar show car. The interior of cars has always been an afterthought for me, I’ve never been big or wowed on fancy interiors. I don’t feel I am a good interior decorator if you know what I mean, frankly I don’t know shyt about what looks good interior wise…... So basically I need a new steering wheel, I don’t want to spend a lot of money & I don’t want to buy something that will make my car look too dated or cheap. Here are a few that I’ve been looking at in the Jeg’s catalogue. the 1st one is the cheapest decent one I found but, I’m willing to spend more if you guys suggest.

GT Rally $66.99

GT Rally $109.99

Classic Style $129.99

Evolution GT $122.99

Chris, is it going in the Mustang? To me they all look pretty nice. Choosing one over the other would depend on your interior color and accents, then exterior IMO.

Yes, it's going on the Mustang. The interior is black & I'm going to keep it pretty much stock. The stock steering wheel is all ratty & falling apart & I just want somthing nice to upgrade to without making my car look too cheaply done.

Like I said I have NO clue when it come to interiors.

Thanks,

Stay with a stock Mustang wheel, maybe a rim blow. You can probably even re-do the one you have, if it's not too far gone...

Chris,

Here is a pic of my favorite, Lecarra. Same style Mustang as yours, I've had MOMO and Sparco, but IMO Lecarra looks the best. Not too small or large and not too expensive, found it for under $100 on eBay.

Looking around at other people's cars, it seems to me that the biggest place they goof is with the steering wheel. If you have a mostly stock looking 1973 interior, you need a wheel that matches it. If you have a very modern interior, you need a modern looking wheel.

I would think something along the lines of a Momo Prototipo would match your interior very well.

A nice Nardi can be had second hand for about $100, like this one.

or this one.

All of these pics are right off of Ebay, so a quick search should turn up something that will match your car well.

Shiny Side Up!

I really like this. Does it come with that horn button? if not, how hard is it to get that horn button to work on an aftermarket wheel?

What size wheel should I be looking for? What’s too big & what’s too small?

OK, I’ve been looking on ebay like you guys suggested & found these.
What do you guys think of these?
