I bought a 68 Camaro a few weeks ago. The car was blasted and painted. Being a paint guy the car is FAR from what I want. I want to build a pro touring car. I have many plans to mod this car from the ground up. Ive always wanted to build a Camaro but never had a chance. Ive modded many Cars, bikes they just turned into projects. I guess those projects were good for me because Ive learned a lot about modding. Now I just have to learn about 1st gen Camaro stuff. I have ideas running wild, lol. One of the main things is I want is a air ride system. Question is should I start with the stock sub frame and just mod the control arms ect. Or buy a subframe ready to roll, thoughts????
Heres my project
Its all a matter of your needs, desires, and budget. What is important, and what is secondary. You have obviously done some killer projects, and like your previous projects, planning is everything! Putting together a budget, selecting the components, and staying with the plan is the only way to go.
Too many projects get started and don't get finished because they blow the budget, or plans change mid stream causing a blown budget. These sites are litered with these projects.
Make a plan, fill in all the blanks, and then build.
Thanks Frank. I just placed my first order with you. Im sure there will be many more, lol.
BUDGET oh do I know about a budget. That car posted above got way out of hand!! I hope to have a budget of 30k plus the car. Keep in mind Ill be doing ALL the work myself, paint motor ect.
Back to Suspension. I would like the bling of a new subframe. BUT the car wont see a track. The goal is to have something modern and that performs good as a street car. When parked I want to lay it out. I want BIG brakes Any suggestions?
Air Ride is the way to go for you. No need for a aftermarket subframe. Some of the baddest Pro Tuouring cars around run Air Ride.
For brakes, bling for the buck, our Prodigy Customs Total Car G Machine Brake Packages are hard to beat. You get everything you need all the way down to the fluid and special tools you need. Your doing this yourself right?
As with almost everything else you will need for the car, we have both these products.
