Default 5 speed T5

I have a 5 speed transmission out of a 4th gen camaro, has anyone ran the T5? Any tricks I need to know. I will be running a SBC. I know I need to have the shaft shortened. My buddy ran this tranny with a big block in his first gen and the tranny has held up. I also have a first gen.

They work great, they are affordable and a decent tranny, I have used alot of them, the trans mount out of a camaro will be on a angle, the S-10 T-5 has a straight mount and forward shifter, on the S-10 trans you have to change the input shaft to a camaro one or use a spacer from Hamilton, I like the S-10 with the spacer it puts the shifter in factory location and factory mount will work also. I do like to use a Olds or Buick rubber injected drive line and shorten it at the rear where it is welded, they take the hard shock of the trans when launching, as far as a road race trans they are good but some mods need to be done. This car has one works well and takes the abuse run's 11:90's

Default T5 from S-10

I was wondering what year S-10 for the donor and everything else necessary such as do you also get clutch from this vehicle or use factory 69 style parts, I currently have a Turbo 350 auto. I am contemplating a 5 speed with my Big Block in my 69 Camaro. I know it would be easier to install a 700R4 but probably not as fun to drive!
Thanks,
Greg

I have another T 5 out of a 6 cylinder camaro that all you have to do is change the bell housing to fit. Interested
