Default dimmer switch options?

I've deleted my floor dimmer switch and am looking to replace with some type of switch I can incorporate into my dash. Anybody have any suggestions? Lighted might be nice but not necessary.

The new Flaming River columns incorporate the dimmer switch on the end of the blinker lever.

Or, if you are using a GM column, you can utilize a Cruise Control turn signal stalk, and wire the button to a ratcheting relay.

...Or, mount a small momentary micro switch on the web of the wheel and run it to a relay (which I HIGHLY recommend) to isolate the current.

Sparco also has a simple switch mount for just such a thing... all you need is to add a relay and wiring to finish it up. Nice thing is, you can mount them up or down to meet your needs:

Default made a decision

thanks for all the great ideas. I decided to go with something like the flaming river piece. same idea, just a different look. it's from watsons-streetworks

and yes, I will wire through a relay.

here's a pic:

I also ordered a cool black recessed momentary switch for my trunk release.

I would think so... the IDIDIT column uses a GM turn signal switch, yes?

I installed the switch. just screws in in place of the old one. posted pics of the install on my blog. haven't actually wired it up yet but should work great.
