Default Gear Vendor for the Glide?

I am looking to upgrade(ie more than two forward gears ) the tranny on my recently purchased 67 RS running a stout 406 sb. I have gone from a built 700R4 to a 5 speed manual to a 6 speed manual in my head. Now I am debating adding a gear vendors unit to my built power glide. The price is around $2500 +/- for the shorty unit. Is anyone running this combo?
Thanks in Advance!!

From what I have read, the Gear Vendors unit can handle the power with no issues!! I think it would be a cool and much needed upgrade for me.
Here are a few pics when I first got the car (aka Vader)

(yes I will be replacing the AR wheels (plus much more haha)

Car looks nice.....If it was in the budget I would stilldo a T56! The gear vendored glide would be cool but the six speed would be more practical! you could always sell the glide on

A six speed would be within the budget, however I know the glide can handle the power (app 500hp ). Still weighing the options. My car was orginally a 4 speed, so getting back to a manual would be cool.
