Default Muncie 4 Speed worth??

How much would you guys say a working muncie 4 speed would be worth to buy?? Used, haven't look at the numbers. But what can I approach with an "at least" price for a muncie??

M20-$300 and up
M22-$500 and up
Really need to know what it is and condition. fairly simple to determine which one it is just from outward things. You buying or selling?

These transmissions are at least 30 to 43 years old. It is hard to find a "good" working unit that doesn't need any attention. Whatever you find, you can expect it to need a rebuild.

I would have to agree with Bill on his as-is unit pricing.

I sold a rebuilt M22 a few months ago for 1000.00 and people told me I sold it too cheap. I figure the value of these should be dropping because with the price of gas everyone will be wanting overdrive.

I would doubt the prices will ever come down for an M22. Regardless of the gas prices. Just my two cents!
