Default Fixing texture on Dash

Hello,
I am finishing a 72 SS Chevelle and was wondering if anyone has fixed an original dash. On my existing SS dash there are a couple of holes that were drilled for aftermarket switches. These holes are not big but my concern is if i try to fill and sand the dash I will smooth it out and no longer have the original texture of the dash.

Any suggestions on how to fix the plastic but yet still retain or create the texture pattern in the plastic?

Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

SEM Texture Coating > http://www.yourautotrim.com/semteco.html

You can fix the hole as normal on any plastic surface. Then before applying the factory color coat, put a few coats of the Texture Coating on. Coarseness increases as your distance from the surface increases. Make sense?

Further away you get.. Rougher the texture.

Then just coat with a color coat to match the rest of the dash and your golden.

We have done a great job bondoing the holes and scribing the pattern into it. if you catch the bondo at just the right time, it is pretty easy with a sharp knife.

71' 72 dashes are pretty easy to find, same as Monte Carlos. 70 is the tuff one to find because of no Fasten Seat belt Light
