Arrow Epoxy Primers... Is there a difference?

I need to buy some epoxy primer for my project but the price range is HUGE! Sherman-Williams $150 Gal, House of Kolor $114, Eastwood $89, etc. I need to spray it over some bare metal (steel) before I do bodywork. I don't mind spending a little more if the product is better or has more advantages but from what I've read, they all seem the pretty simular. I would like some opinions and recommendations for a epoxy primer that is considered a good value.

I look forward to reading your recommendations.

You get what you pay for.....this is a real important layer so dont cheap out on it or you may regret it down the line.

PPG, Dupont, House of Kolor, SPI...... I'd stick with those.

Its also important on what the final color brand will be....stick with the same company throughout the paint process....dont use one company for epoxy, a diff for primer and a diff for color etc.

Hes right, you get what you pay for. I used SPI. The cost for two sprayable gallons wasnt bad. Its mixed one to one with the activator so 160 bucks gives you two sprayable gallons. Its durable, right to bare metal. JR

As stated use products from the same company top to bottom. If you are not going to paint your self and have a shop in mind ask them what they use. Maybe they can get you a better price on it. The biggest difference from one product to the next is raw material that they start with. I for one use Sikkens product made by Akzo Nobel Coatings. But it also helps my 401K.

I am using Sikens. A setup of primer cost me 100 bucks. Like the others said it makes 2 sprayable.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate your input. I've decided to buy the PPG brand epoxy because I already have the paint and it's PPG Deltron 2000.
