I have an LS1, not an LS7 but the following information might be useful:

I used the AME mounts and headers. They work well and everything fits. Not sure that the headers are large enough diameter to support your LS7. Have you checked with AME regarding larger diameter headers?

I also test fit a set of Stainless Works headers. They cleared no problem but they did not line up with the exhaust cutouts in the transmission crossmember. I suspect that most any set of headers not specifically designed to work with the AME subframe will have this problem. The O2 sensor holes were also not going allow the sensors to clear the subframe.

I also remember reading that Frank was sourcing some LS7 headers for the AME subframe. You should give him a call.

We have a header that will work for this application. They are hand built SS and will clear.
