Default need major help with a small project

heya fellas

First post here , would like to give out a big hello to all of you and hope to be of as much use to everyone out there with whatever knowledge iv gained.

so let me start with a little bio about me
Name : Alex
Age : 27
location : U.A.E Abu Dhabi
job : Pilot
Hobbies : Pretty much everything adrenaline related

i guess thats it for now and on with my Q's

iv bought a 1999 2 door 4x4 chevy tahoe and owned it for about a year, would like to keep it as a daily driver / weekend sand dune basher / some drag involved

i went with a big jump from the 5.7 SBC to an 8.2 zz502 crate engine fully assembled and here started my project. ofcourse had to change trans and was adviced by a lot of friends to get a 4L80 with a lil beefing up and so i did.

car is almost done (working out the electrics needed to hook up the trans n all) now here's my Q's

1. some times i feel like iv gone wrong with this electric trans? did i?

2. what could i do to the engine to up its power from its rated 500+hp 550+tq to something in the 800-900hp range and still maintain the daily driver part?

3. even before driving the car, iv done a lot of reading recently and see that the engine kinda lacks the power out of the box and needs a lil tuning/parts changed(heads and a cam) (is the info i read correct ?)

4. i think 800-900hp should be enough to jump any sand dune out there and the 502 should be able to put out as much power and withstand it without braking any internals? or am i wrong here?

the car is pretty much stock asides from the engine and trans ( what else needs beefing up before i go all out on the engine n be sorry later on?)

thanx in advance for all your informative replies

Welcome Alex.

Might be easier and cheaper to go non electronic, although the 4l80 is a stout piece, stand alone computers are available for it. Compushift has a system doesn't need a PC. I think GM might have something programable. And I bet the Bowler guys could help you out as well.

As for the engine, thats a big jump to 800 ftlbs, procharger and keep your street manners. Give a shout to Steve Morris engines, He just flat out knows how to build and tune procharged engines

Hope this gives you some ideas and welcome again
