Default americanpowertrain really?

So, I get contacted by BBB about a claim I made back in 2010 about AP. Grey decided to respond to my claim after 2 1/2 yrs. Just learned that they have 3 yrs to respond. I was over it and moved on.
My request was to get an invoice and return $57 gray charged my account for restocking fees.
To sum things up, grey is requesting in writing that I no longer continue to "forum flame or bad mouth AP" and he will provide a invoice and give me a check for $57 dollars.
He also added that he has been very responsive, has 13yrs exp., sells parts for LQ9's everyday. And that I must have given incorrect information.
I read my claim from 2 1/2 yrs ago. I forgot that grey got all pissed off started cursing at me and had another AP person tell me how I hold some responsiblity for all the items grey picked out with all his exp.

The truth, he claimed to be a expert, picked out all the parts and sent a bellhousing that didn't even match up to my LQ9 and would not give a invoice with the price of each part. Never did know what I paid for each item. The reason I wanted the invoice was to know where they came up with $57 restocking fee Really?
LQ9 with tremic 5 speed is what I have? The other place sent correct parts and I've been driving it for 2 1/2yrs.

Because they are afraid of the word getting out to the masses about how much they suck. I wouldn't by free air to breath from that guy.

Default good vender for a t56 - lq4/lq9

I am about to buy my t56 magnum for my 67 firebird (was a automatic)....I am looking for a complete kit and have talked to a few venders with american powertrain being one of them. I am curious who provided the best service and quality/fit for this purchase...who would you recommend for this?

Thanks,
Henry

Same here, and AP has an outstanding debt with me. Scott, Jim, and Traci at Hurst are good genuine people.

I just bought a T56 Magnum transmission and a hydraulic clutch kit from Hurst Driveline. They delivered... good sales, technical support, and install instructions. I would buy from them again in the future.

Hmmm,
Interesting, I have been researching vendors to purchase a t56 kit from and AP was one of the vendors I was looking at. I guess I will pass on them. Summit sells the Hurst Driveline T56 kits. Because I have had such good experience buying parts from Summit over the years that's where I plan to buy my T56 kit.

I'm getting ready to make this purchase as well. I am buying from Summit and not thinking twice about it. I research everything to death down to the last washer, so I'll be damned if I'm gonna be held up by some boner just because he's a sponsor of a site. I order from Summit, I get an email confirming it, charged when it's shipped, an email with a tracking number, Hurst gets a wholesale sale, and the part shows up on time. End of transaction. I'm impatient and not a very nice person, so I just save flaky vendors the agony. It's a service I provide them.
