I don't think I've posted this on here, sorry if this is a re-post.
Our mini van finally bit the dust last winter. Trust me my wife is more sad than I am, lol! Since I was planning to go back to school and our monthly expenses had to stay low we needed a cheap and fast way to replace it. I scored this on the local online classifieds for a mere $800. It had been re-listed and the price dropped, the guy couldn't get any bites on it. I guess no-one wanted a gas hog 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive within a bad economy and with snow on the ground. Somewhere along the way someone invested a lot of money into it. It has a strong rebuilt 454, recently rebuilt TH400, recently refurbished front and rear A/C system, and custom recovered seats. It was also repainted but something went south and the clear coat is peeling on the roof and hood.
I was thinking of an easy way to freshen up it's exterior looks without too much investment and the ball got rolling from there. When I have the cash first my wife gets a new van. Then I get the Suburban

. I'd like to de chrome it, paint the top half semi gloss black, shave the handles and add a small hood scoop. C notch and drop it using a swapped in 1/2 ton axle and dropped front spindles for the 5 lug conversion, 20" rims, throw in an overdrive trans and maybe add a 177" Weiand blower and torque monster cam. I played on the Big Red gum theme a little, so this is Big Red the Suburban, big, bold and spicy.
