Default Low-key Malibu 4DR

Hi All,

I've started upgrading the suspension and brakes on the Grey Ghost in preparation for the higher horsepower smallblock I've been building for a couple years. As I searched for information and advice, I noticed that some of the most practical and informed links were coming from lateral-g, so I decided to join.

The Grey Ghost is slowly moving from version 3 to 4.

Here's a couple pictures of version 3:

And here's the engine (the overflow tank in this shot was temporarily mounted):

The motor above is a 383 I built like 7 years ago, with a Vortech T-trim that eventually put down 660rwhp. I started getting uncomfortable with the GM 4-bolt block at those power levels.

It sits in front of a built 4L80E.

And here's some latest picture of the motor, plus my build link:

New Motor Build Site:

It's a Dart Little-M based 421" SBC, with a Vortech YSi, huge A2A, 160# injectors (E85 or gas/meth injection).

I decided to go with the AFX spindles, SPC upper/lower control arms, Varishock doubles with stock-type springs in front. 14" Wilwood W6A/ST calipers with floating, slotted rotors.

In the rear I am putting together a full-floater, 35-spline rear with GMR hubs, a Chassisworks FAB9 4130 housing, watts linkage and (probably) Varishock double coilovers. 14" Wilwood FNSL6 calipers, slotted rotors.

More later tonight, plus of course I have some Q's to post.

Cheers,

Jim

This is my type of car. I used to have a blown 78 Malibu wagon, of course that was my pre-California days. Now it's pre 1975 or nothing.
