when i redid the front end on my 68, i went and bought the claw style compressor from harbor freight and used that for one side...big mistake! big pain in the ass. works ok for taking springs out but not the other way around...too bulky. so i searched protouring.com since im a member over there too and many people said they made one with some all-thread (the rod of thread at a hardware store). i bought 5/8 all thread in a 2 to 3 foot length, 2 grade 8 nuts, a few grade 8 washers of various sizes...total cost for me was $14 at the hardware store.

drop the all thread down the shock tower past the lca and tighten with washers and nuts on each side. works great and way faster than a few other compressors ive tried and cheap.
