Wait a minute...this is the truck with the 5.3 in it, right? This sucks.

I have never hot wired any vehicle, but what is the difference between hot wiring a standard Chevy 350 vs a LS motor? I ask this question because wouldn't a thieve look at the truck and think it has an old school carb motor vs a computer controlled fuel injected motor? You may want to look at some people who knew the truck, and where you parked it at night.

I hope you get it back in one piece.

David

Sorry to read that. A few of my vehicles have been stolen, so I know how you feel. Believe it or not, I've heard of people catching the criminals by posting want ads for vehicles and/or parts that were on it on Craigs list. A buddys store was burglarized and the stuff showed up on Ebay a month later. Might be worth a shot to use those venues.

In my (many) experiences the Police do not make any attempt to "solve" theft crimes or recover lost items. You're simply a case # and file. A detective might call once to see if you've found anything. Police departments are overloaded so they concentrate on cases with physical injury or weapons involved. Property loss is low priority.

Call every impound and junkyard within 50 miles. You'd think they'd be connected with the police, but not always the case. My Suburban, 24' enclosed with 66 Mustang in it were stolen in Atlanta. The police had no news when I called daily, yet, I got a letter in the mail from a towing company in the next town a week later. The rig had been dumped (stripped of course) the morning after it was stolen and then towed for blocking a driveway, then sat in the lot for a week. $2,000.00 in towing and storage charges later I got it back (no comp either). The Police never did contact me to tell me it was recovered.

This is one of those instances where it would be good if Lat-G had a direct Facebook link
