Ford G-Machines? - Lateral-g Forums

Any thoughts as to why there are so few Ford-based G-machines represented here? The F-Body Chevys outnumber the Fords over 10-1 in the members rides. Even the Mopars outnumber the Fords over 2-1.

Is this just here at Lat-G or is this the way it pretty much is?

What do you guys think?

I think that's just the way it is, Russ. If you look at every category of our hobby (other than street rods) it seems to ring true.

I have a '68 Mustang coupe patiently waiting in my driveway for it's turn

I know lots of people building Ford PT cars so I expect their numbers to grow..

If you think Ford's are hard to come by, try looking for a Buick. When i bought my Camaro i thought i would not see to many of them. Boy was i wrong.

Now that it is almost finished i am thinking of my next project. So now i am thinking of a pt 70 Buick GS with a fuel injected 455. What do you think? Just trying to do something a little different.

If you know anybody looking for a almost finished 67' Camaro let me know. Just have to finish wiring and get new rims and tires.

I agree with the Buick idea, a Riviera would be cool too, but you are right they are hard to find. There are probably more Chevy's because it is much easier to find parts for them, and for the most part (at least from what I have seen) the parts are cheaper and are more readily available.

I have also wondered why there are not as many Fords. I think its because no one wants to build one. Every one that buys a mustang automaticly make it for drag racing. Look at Muscle mustang and fast Fords Mag all its about is 1/4 mile and nothing else, there isnt even anything on style, looks, or handling.

In all honesty, the Ford's you guys have had in the mag over the last few months have been by far the most interesting features (DISCLAIMER: I have not seen the issue with Bill's GTO). The white open road racer, the red one built by Year-One, the red one owned by the architecht firm and the Unique Performance GT350SR piqued my interest far more than anything else......and Im a Camaro guy.
